February 1, 2012

I sat down this morning to write this week’s installment and out of habit turned on the computer. This nice weather must have more people than just me thinking it is going to be an early spring as today there was over a full page of motorcycles for sale on KIJIJI. Hopefully they all know about our swap meet as that would be a great place to showcase them. Actually I should phone Greg and see if he could post an ad there.

All this talk of hoping for an early spring has me itching to go for a ride. Last year being cooped up because of the ugly winter we had, just getting out was a treat but this year I can’t see anyone suffering from cabin fever. No it is just the love of riding a motorcycle that has me wanting to go. When I was younger I probably would have had one of the smaller bikes out already. Now the prospect of cleaning a grungy bike or healing up from an incident on the slippery streets among automobile drivers not looking for motorcycles outweighs the urge to ride. Not by much and I am hoping for one of those years when we can ride to the Moose Jaw Swap Meet in March.

Now thinking of swap meets, I remember a somewhat humorous story the wife brought home year ago. When a co-worker wanted to know what she was doing on the weekend she stated she was going to the swap meet with me. The co-worker was horrified thinking bikers have an annual wife swapping event. Dar got a good laugh out of it and explained it was a motorcycle parts swap meet. When she came home and told me this humorous tale, I said that wasn’t a bad idea about throwing in the wife part of the swapping but I didn’t think I could get a chromed inner primary for her. It must be true because I had to buy the primary and she is still with me. See you at the swap meet Saturday.

P.S. I need a chrome outer primary cover this year.

Ride Safe
